CONSUMER ALERT – April 23, 2024

UNITEDHEALTH GROUP AND CHANGE HEALTHCARE SUPPORT SERVICES

Consumers who may have been affected by the February 2024 malicious criminal cyberattack on Change Healthcare, a subsidiary of the UnitedHealth Group (UHG), should immediately explore options offered by UHG to help keep their information safe, including credit monitoring and identity theft protection.

This widespread cyberattack affected healthcare providers, insurers, and policyholders across the country, and created significant operational disruptions for consumers and healthcare providers within Connecticut. This may have exposed information from consumers who may not know they were affected. Preliminary findings from UHG's investigation suggest that files containing protected health information or personally identifiable information may have been compromised. While specific details regarding the extent of the breach are still being assessed, UHG has said that this breach “could cover a substantial portion of people in America.”

While UHG continues to analyze the data involved in this cyberattack, it is providing immediate support and resources to individuals potentially affected.

If you have any questions or concerns about the data breach, how it may impact your information with your insurance company, and the resources available, please visit UHG’s dedicated website at https://changecybersupport.com/.

ADDITIONAL CONSUMER SUPPORT SERVICES
