The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA or the Authority) is statutorily charged with regulating the rates and services of Connecticut's public utilities including the industries of electricity, gas and pipeline safety, water, cable, and telecommunications.
In a rate case, a regulated utility files an application to amend its rates. A regulated utility may recover costs incurred to provide safe, reliable service, and a reasonable rate of return.
