RCP Temporary Permit
Before applying for licensure, please familiarize yourself with the general licensing policies.
Recent graduates of accredited programs, may apply for a temporary permit to practice under the supervision of a Connecticut licensed RCP. The permit is valid for 120 calendar days from date of application). Temporary permits are not renewable and may not be issued to individuals who have previously failed the NBRC examination or are licensed in another jurisdiction. Should the applicant fail the examination, the permit becomes void.
In order to obtain a temporary permit, an applicant must provide the following documentation:
A completed application with photograph attached. Applications are only accepted online. Please select this link to apply online. Once logged in, please select the 'Public Health Practitioner' grouping and then 'Start' Next to 'Respiratory Care Practitioner Temporary Permit'
As part of the application process, you will need to upload:
A copy of your diploma or other document such as a letter from the program documenting that you have completed the program;
A completed 'Supervision Verification' form.
Once an application has been received and reviewed, the applicant will be notified by email.
