What is the CT Personal Responsibility Education Program (CT PREP)?

The CT PREP program teaches young people about both abstinence and contraception to help prevent teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). These lessons are based on proven programs that have been shown to help change behaviors and support young people in making positive decisions. The program helps youth learn how to make healthy choices and prepare for adulthood, such as:

  • Building healthy relationships
  • Understanding adolescent development
  • Learning healthy life skills

Funding

CT PREP is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children & Families (ACF), through the Federal Youth Services Bureau (FYSB). The program has received funding since 2010.
