DEEP Announces Alcohol Ban for Nine Recreation Areas
(HARTFORD) — The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has imposed a temporary alcohol ban for nine state recreation areas. This ban is in effect from Wednesday, May 21, through Monday, August 18, at the following locations:
The CT DEEP owns and/or operates over 110 boat launches statewide on ponds, lakes, rivers and Long Island Sound.
General Permit for In Situ Remediation
Connecticut DEEP has developed general permits for the most common in situ remedial activities - enhanced aerobic biodegradation and chemical oxidation. In situ remedial activities not covered by a general permit may still be authorized through the issuance of an individual groundwater discharge permit or a temporary discharge authorization, as appropriate for the proposed activity.
