Creative aging programs give older adults the chance to participate in activities that foster creative engagement and skills mastery in a social environment. Research shows they get psychological, physical, and emotional health benefits when they participate.
The COA plays three roles in the Creative Aging program:
- Developing and training teaching artists to work with older adults
- Helping organizations find teaching artists for Creative Aging program
- Partnering with other state agencies, funders, and service providers to expand arts learning opportunities for older adult
