Annual Bail Bond Assessment – Individual & Business Entity

IMPORTANT

The deadline for payment of the annual bail bond assessment (Individual/Business) is January 31, 2025.

Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes, Section 38a-660, all surety bail bond licensees in this state shall, on or before January thirty-first annually, pay to the Commissioner a fee of four hundred and fifty dollars to cover the cost of examinations. This includes both individual and business bail bond entities.

Failure to pay the annual assessment by the January 31st deadline will result in the cancellation of your bail bond license. If your license is cancelled, you will have to re-apply and meet first time license requirements if you wish to be reinstated. The Department is not responsible for late, lost, or misdirected payments.

Please follow the instructions below to submit your payment via the SBS License Manager.

  1. Click here to access SBS License Manager
  2. Complete the following search criteria:
    • Jurisdiction: Select "Connecticut"
    • Entity Type:
      • Individual licensees provide your Last Name, NPN and your SSN, click search button.
      • Business Entity licensees provide your NPN and your FEIN, click search button.
  3. Click the "Make Payments" button located at the top of your License Manager Home Page
  4. On the "Make Payments" page, verify the licensee information and click in the box corresponding to the correct payment amount. The related payment invoice can also be accessed by double clicking on invoice number highlighted in blue.
  5. Press Next
  6. Review the details of your payment on the "Payment Review" page, making sure that the "Payment Amount" shows correctly as $450.00. Click on the "Previous" button to make corrections.
  7. Press Next
  8. On the "Payment Details" screen enter the billing information of the credit card you intend to use to pay the fee.
  9. Press Next
  10. On the "Credit Card Details" page enter your credit card number, expiration date and 3-digit CVC number. Also, check the box confirming that all fees are non-refundable.
  11. Press Finish
  12. On the “Review Page” you will be allowed to review, revise, and submit your transaction. The system will then display a message stating that you have successfully submitted your payment and will allow you to print a receipt. You will receive a confirmation email that will include the details of your payment.
