• Health and Education

  The Health and Education Section represents a myriad of state agencies which include the State Department of Education, the Department of Developmental Services, the University of Connecticut and all of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities. It represents the Department of Social Services, the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Psychiatric Security Review Board, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the Department of Public Health and the various health licensing boards and the Office of Health Strategy.

• Financial and Revenue Services

  The Financial and Revenue Services Section (“Section”) provides legal services to several state agencies, including the Department of Banking, the Department of Insurance, the Department of Revenue Services, the Department of Economic and Community Development, the Office of Policy and Management, the Office of Health Strategy, the Office of Workforce Strategy, the State Insurance Risk Management Board, the Public Utility Regulatory Authority and the Siting Council.

  This Section represents the Governor, the Judicial Branch, the General Assembly, the Secretary of the State, the Treasurer, the Comptroller, the Auditors of Public Accounts, the State Elections Enforcement Commission, the Office of State Ethics, the Citizen's Ethics Advisory Board, the State Properties Review Board, the Judicial Review Council, the Judicial Selection Commission, the Office of Protection and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities, the Board of Accountancy, the Office of the Child Advocate, the Office of the Victim Advocate, the Commission on Women, Children and Seniors, the State of Contracting Standards Board, and the Latino and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission. In addition, through its Public Charities Unit, the Section protects the public interest in gifts, bequests and devises for charitable purposes; and in cooperation with the Department of Consumer Protection, administers and enforces state laws regulating charities and professional fundraisers who solicit from the public.

• Connecticut Centralized Child Support Processing Center

  The Connecticut Child Support Processing Center is dedicated to providing high quality customer service to custodial parties, non-custodial parents, employers, and other agencies in need of assistance with the child support payment process.

  DSS provides information about Custodial, Non-Custodial, Forms, publications, FAQ's and more.

• Notices of Material Change and Healthcare Filings

  The Antitrust Section reviews the Notices of Material Change filed prior to any material change in physician group practices, per Conn. Gen. Stat. § 19a-486i(c). Providers are also required to file annual Hospital Affiliation Reports and Annual Group Practice Reports, per Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 19a-486i (g), (h), and (i).

  The ABA Center on Children and Law gives you information on professional training and education, publications and internet resources and technical assistance and consulting. Information about Child Adolescent health, child custody proceedings reform, children exposed to domestic violence and more.

• Kids Counsel: Center for Children's Advocacy

  Visit the website for KidsCounsel Case Library which provides information on synopses of cases recently decided in Connecticut's state and federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court regarding abuse and neglect, adoption, civil liberties, discrimination, education, family law, guardianship, juvenile justice, legal representation, medicaid, and mental health. • The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence

  Information about domestic violence, the toll-free 24-hour crisis line, safe shelters across the state, services available in Connecticut.

• The Privacy and Data Security Department

  The Privacy and Data Security Department handles matters related to the protection of Connecticut residents' personal information and data. The Department enforces state laws governing notification of data breaches, safeguarding of personal information, and protection of social security numbers and other sensitive information. The Department is also responsible for enforcement of federal laws under which the Attorney General has enforcement authority, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). In addition, this Department provides the Attorney General with advice and counsel on proposed legislation and other matters regarding privacy and data security, and it engages in extensive outreach to citizens and businesses on matters relating to data protection and privacy.
