As part of the current budget mitigation plan, the licensed practical nurse (LPN) education programs in the state of Connecticut’s vocational technical schools have been suspended. The suspended programs include:
Bullard Haven Vocational-Technical School;
Henry Abbot Vocational-Technical School;
Eli Whitney Vocational-Technical School;
A.I. Prince Vocational-Technical School;
Howell-Cheney Vocational-Technical School;
Vinal Vocational-Vocational-Technical School;
E.C. Goodwin Vocational-Technical School;
Norwich Regional Vocational-Technical School;
J.M. Wright Vocational-Technical School;
W.F. Kaynor Vocational-Technical School;
Windham Vocational-Technical School.
This suspension does not impact the private LPN education programs at Stone Academy, Lincoln Technical Institute and Porter and Chester Institute.
Students who are currently enrolled in the state's vocational technical schools will be allowed to complete the program and graduate.
No new students will be admitted to the programs in January 2010.
There is no information available concerning whether or when these programs might be reinstated.
