Notice of Intent to Amend Regulations Concerning the Use and Control of Radioactive Materials
The main purpose of this proposal is the modernization of Connecticut’s regulations concerning the use and control of radioactive materials. This proposal also creates the regulatory infrastructure necessary to achieve Agreement State status with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and adopts civil penalties for violations related to sources of ionizing radiation. A public hearing will be held on January 17, 2024. Written comments are due no later than 5pm on January 29, 2024, a second extension of the original comment deadline of January 19, 2024.
