Public Notice of Availability of Watershed Documents
STATEWIDE PUBLIC NOTICE
Lake Nutrient TMDL Core Document, Bantam Lake TMDL & Bantam Lake Watershed-based Plan
Notice is hereby given that the State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) is making available three draft documents, the Statewide Lake Nutrient TMDL Core Document, the Bantam Lake TMDL and the Bantam Lake Watershed-based Plan for public review and comment (Public Notice) from July 19, 2021 to August 19, 2021. These documents were prepared by the CT DEEP with support from the United States Environmental Protection Agency to fulfill requirements of the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA) under Sections 303(d) and 319. The final document will be submitted to the federal Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) following the Department’s consideration of comments received.Interested persons may obtain copies of the draft documents on the CT DEEP website at https://portal.ct.gov/DEEP/Water/Watershed-Management/Bantam-Lake-Watershed-Projects Hard copies of the document may be requested by contacting the Department sarah.hurley@ct.gov.
Written comments on the draft documents must be received at the Department August 19, 2021 in order to be considered prior to submission of the final document to US EPA, email preferred. Comments should be directed electronically to sarah.hurley@ct.gov. Written comments may also be submitted in paper form to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Bureau of Water Protection and Land Reuse, Water Planning and Management Division, 79 Elm Street, Hartford, CT 06106-5127, Attn: Sarah Hurley.
