2 Column Right Rail Page Overview

The 2 Column Right Rail Page is a template that contains two independent columns that display various components. It contains a global header, a custom banner, Agency footer, and a global footer. This page can be built using different sublayouts and inserting a variety of components to manage content and imagery.

Create a 2Column Right Rail Page

1. Navigate to the Home Folder from Content > Agency Name Here > Home from the Content Tree.

2. Right-click on the Home item.

3. Insert the 2ColumnChild Page option.

4. Name the 2ColumnChildPage title.

The 2Column Right-Rail Page will generate in the Content Area, automatically locked (checked out) and ready to edit. The content tree will display an _resources folder under the Page’s title where components can be inserted. 5. Select the Save Save icon icon (top left in the Content Editor Ribbon).

When viewing the newly created page in the Experience Editor, you will see an empty page with four sections. Each section contains one or more placeholders that you can insert a sublayout into.

1. Top section: A single placeholder that spans the entire page width
2. Left section: 6 separate placeholders that span 3/4 of the page
3. Right Rail section: 6 separate placeholders that span ¼ of the pages
4. Bottom section: A single placeholder that spans the entire page width

Edit the Page in Experience Editor

1. From the Experience Editor, insert a sublayout into one of the sections on the page.

2. Choose one of the grey placeholders and select the Add here button.

3. Select the sublayout container you want to use.
a. The following sublayouts are available in all the top, left, and bottom sections:
i. Full-Width
ii. 9-3 sublayout
iii. 8-4 sublayout
iv. 6-6 sublayout
v. 4-4-4 sublayout
vi. 3-3-3-3 sublayout
vii. 3-9 sublayout
viii. 4-8 sublayout
ix. Dynamic Grid

b. The following sublayouts are available in the right-rail section:
i. Full-Width
ii. Dynamic Grid

4. Select the sublayout you just inserted, then select the Add here button to see what components are available to add.

TIP: It is easier to create and populate the components you want to use in the Content Editor first before adding them to the page in the Experience Editor.

5. Select the Save Save icon icon (top left in the Content Editor Ribbon).

6. Preview the Page.

7. Publish the page when ready.

Edit the Page Properties

1. Open the page in the Content Editor.

2. Scroll to the Metadata section in the Content Area and modify the Meta Title field.
a. The Meta Title field automatically populates with the name of the Landing Page.
b. This field displays in the web browser tab and also in search engine results.
c. Modify this field to improve search engine optimization (SEO).
d. The meta Description and meta Keywords can also be filled out to help the search engine better understand the page content but are not used in the algorithm to improve raking.

Page _resources folder

The _resources folder is automatically generated under the page you create and is there to add any components you want that are specific to that page. To add components to the _resources folder, follow these steps.

1. Navigate to the _resources within the page from Content > Agency Name Here > Home > Page > _resources from the Content Tree.

2. Right-click on the _resources and choose Insert >

3. Select from the component folders available.
