Event Calendar List
Event Calendar List Overview
The Event Calendar List is the item that you assign Event Calendar Pages to, so they display on a page.
The steps to setting up the Event Calendar List consists of:
1. Creating the Event Calendar List item under the Content Modules folder
2. Selecting the Event Calendar Pages to add to the List
Create the Event Calendar List
1. Navigate to the Event Calendar Folder from Content > Agency Name Here > Content Modules > Event Calendar Folder using the Content Tree.
Note: Adding the Event Calendar List here allows the Event Calendar items to be shared across all pages.
2. Right-click on the Event Calendar Folder and choose Insert > Event Calendar List.
3. Name the Event Calendar List and select OK.
4. The Event Calendar List is created.
Edit the Event Calendar List
1. Scroll to the Event List Content section in the Content Area.
2. Event List Title: Enter a title for the listing.
3. Event List: Select the Events you wish to show in the Event Calendar Listing. Double-click on the events to move them to the Selected box.
4. Show All Text: Type in the text that will show up on the Show All link to view all of the events.
5. Show All Link: Add the link to go from the Show All link to the page you’ve linked to.
a. Select the ‘Insert link’ to link to a page in Sitecore.
b. Select the ‘Insert media link’ to link to a document file in Sitecore.
c. Select the ‘Insert external link’ to link to an item outside of Sitecore.
d. For internal Sitecore links, select the page you want to link to. There is no need to enter the navigation title in the ‘Description’ field.
6. Select the Save icon (top left in the Content Editor Ribbon).
7. Publish the item when ready.
Insert the Event Calendar List on the Page
1. From the Experience Editor, insert a sublayout on the page.
2. Select the sublayout container you want to insert the Event Calendar List component into.
a. This component is available on following sublayouts:
i. Full-Width
ii. 9-3 sublayout (9 & 3 container)
iii. 8-4 sublayout (8 & 4 container)
iv. 6-6 sublayout
v. 4-4-4 sublayout
vi. 3-3-3-3 sublayout
vii. Dynamic Grid sublayout
3. Select the Calendar tab, then the EventCalendarList component.
4. Select the Select button.
5. Select the Event Calendar List item through the Select the Associated Content screen.
6. A dialog box appears with the Event Calendar List items you created to select from.
7. Select the appropriate Event Calendar List item and select OK.
a. NOTE: This example shows an Event Calendar List under the Event Calendar Folder found under the Content Modules folder where Event Calendar List can be created to share on other pages.
8. Select the Save icon (top left in the Content Editor Ribbon).
9. Preview the Page.
10. Publish the item when ready.
Change the Event Calendar List View
The Event Calendar List has two different views:
• Default – This is the view automatically displayed on the page
• Images – Displays the Event Calendar image and Event Type
Default view | Images view |
1. From the Experience Editor, select the Event Calendar List component, then select the Display Properties icon from the toolbar.
2. Select the Show Image checkbox to have the images show with the component. Uncheck the box to have the images not show.
3. Select the Save icon (top left in the Content Editor Ribbon).
4. Preview the Page.
5. Publish the item when ready.
