For most digital asset work, we recommend creating an IA before you ever start designing or creating new content. We apply a universal IA to all new agency websites using the State’s new design system. While we understand that agencies on occasion may require flexibility in their architecture, we look to closely align with the enterprise model. This helps standardize the user experience state-wide and reduces user confusion.

Our IA also includes a navigation strategy that assembles content in categorical silos. This allows content admins to guide users to needed content in 3 clicks or less. Additionally, we use a standard “FAQ-style” knowledge-base model to provide clear answers to common questions across the State.
