All digital content for State government websites and apps is required to meet state accessibility standards as defined in WCAG 2.1 Level AA. To support this requirement, we will be asking you to provide your company’s VPAT and standard accessibility validation process.
As you create your site, you’ll want to ensure you are addressing the State’s accessibility standards in your design so all of your agency’s customers will be able to access your work. We do not want to create content outside of the lens of accessibility for many reasons, including the State’s commitment to an equitable experience for all customers seeking services, as well as a reduced burden on your team and ours to remediate issues after launch. Here’s a quick guide to get you up to speed on the accessibility standards we follow and how to apply them to your work.
