Monday: Gov. Malloy Joins Region's Governors to Take Action Requiring Polluting States to Clean up Their Air
On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Delaware Governor Jack Markell, New Hampshire Governor Margaret Hassan, Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin, and state environmental commissioners from the eastern region of the country at a news conference to announce a bold strategy requiring nine Midwestern and Southern states to clean up their air pollution, which creates adverse health and economic impacts on millions of people living in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region.

Honoring a Solemn Day in our State’s History
Nearly a year ago, our state was confronted by an act of confounding evil. For many of us, the emotions we felt that day and in the days after are still raw, as if the events at Sandy Hook Elementary School happened only a moment ago. Of course, no one feels this more than the families and friends who lost a loved one that terrible day.

New England Governors Sign Energy Statement Committing Region to Cooperation on Infrastructure
New England’s Governors today committed their six states to an energy initiative designed to bring affordable, cleaner, and more reliable power to homes and businesses across the northeast. This initiative will accelerate regional cooperation on expanding renewable energy and energy infrastructure in New England.

Gov. Malloy: Responders Involved in Sandy Hook Tragedy to Receive Compensatory Time Under Negotiated Agreement
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that first responders and other state employees who were significantly involved with the direct response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School last year will be credited with forty hours of compensatory time under an agreement reached between the state and six unions representing the state employees.
