Gov. Malloy: Winter Storm and Severe Cold Weather Will Impact the State Over the Next Few Days
With a winter storm and bitter cold temperatures expected over the next few days, Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging residents to take it slow and avoid travel during the height of the storm Thursday night and has directed the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS), the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to coordinate with 2-1-1 and Connecticut’s network of shelters to ensure that the state’s most vulnerable people are protected from the severe cold weather.

Gov. Malloy & Lt. Gov. Wyman: State Grant Will Increase Access to Riverfront in Downtown Hartford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Gov. Nancy Wyman today announced that $1.5 million in state funding will support the Riverwalk South and Gateway project in Hartford – the last piece of a three-mile loop of fully accessible riverwalks between the Founders and Charter Oak Bridges, and more than 4.5 miles of riverwalks in Riverfront’s four parks along the Connecticut River.

Gov. Malloy: First of Two Increases in State's Minimum Wage Scheduled to Take Effect Wednesday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today reminded Connecticut residents that the first of two scheduled increases in the state’s minimum wage is slated to take effect this week as a result of a new law the Governor signed earlier this year, which requires the state’s minimum wage to increase from $8.25 to $8.70 on January 1, 2014, followed by a second increase on January 1, 2015 to $9.00.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a new state Web page streamlines resources to help families with insurance coverage and reimbursement for behavioral health and substance abuse treatment.
