NOTICE:

Connecticut passed new legislation requiring DSS to spread out SNAP benefit issuance dates throughout the month rather than concentrating them in the first few days. Read up on the changes that start March 1.

DSS benefits have changed due to the federal budget reconciliation bill (H.R.1). Find out how it will impact you on our website, which answers questions about work requirements and exemptions for SNAP and HUSKY (Medicaid).

Special Notice to Non-English Speaking Individuals and Families

Some of the families and individuals DSS serves speak little or no English. To address the needs of these families DSS has contracted with Language Link Services to provide over the phone interpretation for our individuals and their families to bridge the communication gap.

Non-English speakers or individuals with limited understanding of English may call DSS to connect with a staff member, and quickly be connected to a two-way conversation with an interpreter. Please contact the DSS staff member you work with to learn more about this service.
