Office of Public Health Workforce Development (OPHWD)
OPHWD helps grow and support the public health workforce across CT. This includes people who work at state, local, and nonprofit public health agencies.
Our goal is to ensure Connecticut has a strong public health workforce to provide high-quality services to our communities. We do this through our work with students in high schools and colleges who have an interest in public health careers, and with agencies who hire public health workers. We also provide training and assistance to all staff currently working within the CT Department of Public Health in order to maintain a well-trained, fully-supported, and capable state public health workforce.
