UPDATED: Metal Beam Guide Rail Upgrade Project on Route 25 and Service Road 860 in Newtown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that guide rail upgrade projects will be performed on Route 25 and Service Road 860 from the Monroe town line to Service Road 860 (Mile Hill Road) in Newtown. The project consists of upgrading existing guide rail systems to current standard systems on Route 25 North and South and Service Road 860 (Mile Hill Road) east and westbound in Newtown. The upgrades are scheduled to begin on Monday, June 24and continue through Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 25 and Service Road 860 (Mile Hill Road). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
