The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing milling and paving operations in preparation for the installation of High Friction Surface Treatment on the Exit 58 Northbound Off ramp and the Exit 57 Southbound On & Off ramps, from Route 34 to Route 15, Wilbur Cross Parkway, will occur on September 20 and 21, 2022, during the hours of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.
Project 0106-0130 includes the installation of a new acceleration lane to the Route 15 southbound interchange 57 on ramp as well as installation of High Friction Surface Treatment on the Exit 58 North Bound Off ramp and the Exit 57 Southbound On & Off ramps, from Route 34 to Route 15. In order to perform the surface treatment, the ramps must be milled and paved, requiring roadway closures. The closures may be extended later in the week should weather conditions prove unfavorable for pavement placement.
Message boards with closure dates are installed warning drivers of closures, detour signs are in place to guide traffic to the next available ramp.
The High Friction Surface Treatment will be installed following 30 days of “cure” of the newly placed pavement and will require additional roadway closures.
DOT Project No. 0106-0130 was awarded to Guerrera Construction Company on December 15, 2022, at a cost of $3,491,304.00 and is scheduled to be completed on November 27, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3, New Haven.
