CONSUMER CREDIT DIVISION ACTIVITY
Consent Order
On February 14, 2022, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order with Marvin Friedman d/b/a Maple End Package Store (“Maple End”), Bristol, Connecticut. The Consent Order was based on an investigation by the Consumer Credit Division. As a result of such investigation, the Commissioner alleged that Maple End, in or about October 2019, engaged in the business of cashing checks, drafts or money orders for consideration in Connecticut without licensure at its primary business address, in violation of Section 36a-581(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes. As part of the Consent Order, Maple End paid $250 as a civil penalty.
