Any comments should be in writing to John P. Written comments will be considered only if they are received within ten days from the date of this bulletin.
BRANCH ACTIVITY
State Bank Activity
Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. Questions concerning branch activity should be directed to the Bank Examination Division, (860) 240-8180.

BRANCH ACTIVITY
In Department of Banking Bulletin # 1989, for the week ending April 5, 2002, a March 28, 2002 approval for the establishment of a branch of Ridgefield Bank at 90 Danbury Road, Ridgefield, was incorrectly listed. The initial approval for the establishment of the branch was issued on March 27, 2001, expired on March 27, 2002. Ridgefield Bank has notified the Department of Banking that this approved branch will not be established.
CHECK CASHING SERVICE LICENSE ACTIVITY
On April 11, 2002, pursuant to Section 36a-581 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Connecticut State Check Cashing Service, Inc. filed an application to operate a check cashing service general facility at 876 New Britain Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut.
CONVERSION
Windsor Locks Savings and Loan Association, Inc., Windsor Locks, converted from a Connecticut mutual savings and loan association to a federal mutual savings and loan association to be known as Windsor Locks Community Bank, FSL. The effective date of the conversion is March 29, 2002.
MONEY ORDER AND TRAVELERS CHECK LICENSE ACTIVITY
On April 9, 2002, pursuant to Section 36a-600 of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended by Public Act 01-56, AAA Financial Corporation received approval to engage in the business of money transmission.
NAME CHANGE
On February 22, 2002, pursuant to Section 36a-82 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Bankers Trust Company Connecticut Ltd. was granted approval to change its name to Deutsche Bank Trust Company Connecticut Ltd. The effective date of the name change was April 15, 2002.
