BRANCH ACTIVITY
State Bank

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. CHECK CASHING SERVICE LICENSE ACTIVITY

On August 6, 2001, pursuant to Section 36a-581 of the Connecticut General Statutes, SDM Check Cashing of CT II, LLC filed an application to operate check cashing service general facilities at 98-100 Farmington Avenue, Bristol, Connecticut and 17 High Ridge Road, Stamford, Connecticut.

MONEY ORDER AND TRAVELERS CHECK LICENSE ACTIVITY

On August 7, 2001, pursuant to Section 36a-600 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Girosol Corp. filed an application to engage in the business of receiving money for transmitting the same.

CONVERSION

On August 7, 2001, pursuant to subsection (f) of Section 10 of Public Act 01-183, the Commissioner granted approval to First International Bank, Hartford, Connecticut, to convert from a Connecticut bank authorized to accept retail deposits to an uninsured bank.

CREDIT UNION ACTIVITY
Conversion

On August 9, 2001, pursuant to Section 36a-469 of the Connecticut General Statutes, approval was granted to Stamford Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union to convert from a federal credit union to a state credit union. The name of the credit union will be Stamford Credit Union, Inc. and the field of membership will be: employees of the City of Stamford; employees of the Stamford E.M.S. Foundation, Inc. who work in Stamford, Connecticut; employees of Learning International, Inc. who work in Stamford, Connecticut; and employees of Shaw Mudge and Company who work in Stamford, Connecticut. Also included are employees of this credit union, persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the above employment, members of their immediate families, and organizations of such persons.
