Branch Activity

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. ACQUISITION

On August 11, 2000, NewMil Bancorp, Inc., a Delaware corporation, filed an acquisition statement pursuant to Section 36a-184 of the Connecticut General Statutes, for the indirect acquisition of Nutmeg Federal Savings and Loan Association, a federal savings and loan association with its principal office in Danbury, Connecticut. This application was filed in connection with the application filed on August 4, 2000, by New Milford Savings Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NewMil Bancorp, Inc., for the merger of Nutmeg Federal Savings and Loan Association with and into New Milford Savings Bank.

SECTION 36a-425 APPLICATION

On August 11, 2000, The Advest Group, Inc., a Delaware corporation, filed an application to establish an office of its subsidiary, Advest, Inc., a Delaware corporation, at 38 East Main Street, Mystic, Connecticut.

CREDIT UNION ACTIVITY
Field of Membership

Pursuant to Sections 36a-437(g) and (h) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on August 4, 2000, approval was granted to Community Healthcare Credit Union, Inc., Manchester, Connecticut, to amend its certificate of organization and bylaws to expand its field of membership to include all persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other entities located in the towns of Vernon, Manchester and Glastonbury.

Pursuant to Sections 36a-437(g) and (h) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on August 4, 2000, Danbury Cyanamid Employees Credit Union, Inc., Danbury, Connecticut, requested approval to amends its certificate of organization and bylaws to expand its field of membership to include all persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other entities located in the greater Danbury area. The greater Danbury area is defined as the towns of Danbury, Bethel, New Milford, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Redding, Ridgefield, and Newtown.

Merger

Pursuant to Section 36a-470 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on August 4, 2000, approval was granted to Mossberg & Sons Employees Credit Union, Inc., North Haven, Connecticut to merge with and into Bic Credit Union, Inc., Milford, Connecticut.
