Branch Activity

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. CHECK CASHING SERVICE LOCATION ACTIVITY

Pursuant to Section 36a-581 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on November 15, 1999, New York Cash Express, Inc. DBA ACE America's Cash Express received approval to operate a check cashing service general facility at 2165 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut.

DE NOVO BRANCH

On November 18, 1999, PNC Bank, National Association, with its main office located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, received approval pursuant to Section 36a-412(a)(2) of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended by Public Act 99-33, to establish a de novo branch at 125 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, Connecticut.

NAME CHANGE

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-82 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on November 19, 1999, approval was granted to Columbus Circle Trust Company, Stamford, to change its name to Circle Trust Company. Upon filing the approval with the Secretary of the State, the change will become effective.

WITHDRAWAL OF SECTION 36a-425 APPLICATION

On November 5, 1999, First Union Corporation, a North Carolina corporation, withdrew its application to establish an office of its subsidiary, TMS Mortgage Inc. d/b/a The Money Store, a New Jersey corporation, at 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
