This bulletin constitutes the only official notification you will receive from this office concerning any of the following applications. Any observations you may have are solicited. Written comments will be considered only if they are received within ten days from the date of this bulletin.
STATE BANK ACTIVITY
Branch Activity
Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. Questions concerning branch activity should be directed to the Bank Examination Division, (860) 240-8180.

On July 29, 1999, approval was granted pursuant to Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes for Cargill Bank to assume liability for deposits and acquire branches located at Route 44 - Stonewall Commons, Putnam, and 203 Main Street, Danielson, Connecticut
Pursuant to the provisions of subsections (g) and (h) of Section 36a-437 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on July 27, 1999, Plainfield Employees Credit Union, Inc. filed an application to amend its certificate of organization and bylaws to expand its field of membership to include persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Plainfield, Sterling, and Canterbury, Connecticut.
Pursuant to the provisions of subsections (g) and (h) of Section 36a-437 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on July 27, 1999, Norwalk Municipal Employees Credit Union, Inc. filed an application to amend its certificate of organization and bylaws to expand its field of membership to include persons living and working in the city of Norwalk and the towns of Darien, New Canaan, Weston, Westport and Wilton, excluding employees of healthcare related employers in these towns.
SECTION 36a-425 APPROVAL
On July 26, 1999, approval was granted to First American Corporation, a Tennessee corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiaries, IFC Holdings, Inc. d/b/a INVEST Financial Corporation, a Delaware corporation, and INVEST Financial Corp. Insurance Agency Inc. of CT, a Connecticut corporation, at 25 Wells Road, Wethersfield, Connecticut.
