Branch Activity

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. NEW BANK ACTIVITY

Pursuant to Section 36a-70(l) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on April 14, 1999, a final certificate of authority to commence business was issued to Castle Bank and Trust Company, Meriden.

SALE OF A BRANCH

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-145(h) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on April 13, 1999, New Milford Savings Bank was granted approval to sell its branch located within the Stop & Shop Supermarket, Ledgebrook, 200 New Hartford Road, Route 44, Winsted, Connecticut to American Bank of Connecticut, Waterbury.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-145(h) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on April 14, 1999, New Haven Savings Bank was granted approval to sell its branch located at 635 South Main Street, Middletown, Connecticut to Liberty Bank, Middletown.

SECTION 36a-425 APPROVAL

On April 16, 1999, approval was granted to BankAmerica Corporation, a Delaware corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiary, NationsCredit Financial Services Corporation, a North Carolina corporation, at Commerce Center One, 333 East River Drive, East Hartford, Connecticut.

MONEY ORDER AND TRAVELERS CHECK LICENSE ACTIVITY

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-600 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on April 12, 1999, Vigo Remittance Corp received approval to engage in the business of receiving money for transmitting the same.

CREDIT UNION ACTIVITY

Pursuant to the provisions of subsections (g) and (h) of Section 36a-437 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on April 16, 1999, Danbury Cyanamid Employees Credit Union, Inc., filed an application to amend its certificate of organization and bylaws to expand its field of membership to include all manufacturing, research and development and/or distribution companies who have 500 or fewer employees in the towns of Danbury, Bethel, New Milford and Brookfield.
