Written comments will be considered only if they are received within ten days from the date of this bulletin.

Branch Activity

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. SECTION 36a-425 APPROVAL

On September 23, 1998, approval was granted to NationsBank (DE) Corporation, a Delaware corporation, to maintain two offices of a subsidiary of NationsBank Corporation, a North Carolina corporation, EquiCredit Corporation of CT, a Connecticut corporation, at 74 Batterson Park Road, Farmington, and 99 Hawley Lane, Suite 1007, Stratford, Connecticut, upon consummation of the merger of NationsBank Corporation with and into NationsBank (DE) Corporation, the resulting holding company to be known as NationsBank (DE) Corporation.   Subsequently, BankAmerica Corporation will merge with and into NationsBank (DE) Corporation which will change its name to BankAmerica Corporation upon consummation of the merger.

SECTION 36a-425 APPLICATION

On September 24, 1998, an application was filed by National Australia Bank Limited, an Australian corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiary, HomeSide Lending, Inc., a Florida corporation, at 20 Western Boulevard, 1st Floor, Glastonbury, Connecticut.
