Branch Activity
Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. SALE OF ASSETS
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-210(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on June 29, 1998, Branford Savings Bank received approval to sell its branches located at 568 East Main Street, Branford, CT; 430 Foxon Road, East Haven, CT; 263 Hemingway Avenue, East Haven, CT; and 1717 Foxon Road, North Branford, CT to Citizens Bank of Connecticut.
CHANGE OF NAME
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-82 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on July 1, 1998, Branford Savings Bank received approval to change its name to Superior Savings of New England.
SECTION 36a-425 APPROVAL
On June 29, 1998, approval was granted to Citigroup, Inc., a Delaware corporation, to maintain the following eight offices of three of its subsidiaries following the consummation of the merger of Citicorp with and into a merger subsidiary of Travelers Group, Inc., and the change of name of Travelers Group, Inc. to Citigroup, Inc. Citicorp Investment Services, a Delaware corporation, will continue to operate at 453 East Putnam Avenue, Cos Cob; 40 Heights Road, Darien; 1275 Post Road, Fairfield; 16-18 Railroad Avenue, Greenwich; 586 Connecticut Avenue, Norwalk; 999 High Ridge Road, Stamford; 750 Washington Boulevard, 7th Floor, Stamford; and 399 Post Road West, Westport, Connecticut. Citicorp Mortgage, Inc., and Citicorp North America, Inc., both Delaware corporations, will also operate at 750 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, Connecticut.
CREDIT UNION ACTIVITY
Pursuant to the provisions of subsections (g) and (h) of Section 36a-437of the Connecticut General Statutes, on June 24, 1998, The Trumbull Credit Union, Inc. filed an application to expand its field of membership to include the employees of the Housing Authority of the Town of Trumbull.
