Written comments will be considered only if they are received within ten days from the date of this bulletin.

Branch Activity

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. ACQUISITION AND MERGER

On June 16, 1998, New England Community Bancorp, Inc., a bank holding company with its principal place of business in Connecticut, its wholly-owned subsidiary, New England Bank & Trust Company, a Connecticut-chartered bank and trust company, and Bank of South Windsor, a Connecticut-chartered bank and trust company, filed an application pursuant to Sections 36a-184 and 36a-125 of the Connecticut General Statutes for the merger of Bank of South Windsor with and into New England Bank & Trust Company. In connection with the application, New England Bank & Trust Company and Bank of South Windsor also have filed a community reinvestment plan which is available for public inspection and comment at the Department of Banking for a period of 30 days.

SECTION 36a-425 APPLICATION

On June 17, 1998, an application was filed by KeyCorp to establish an office of its subsidiary, Champion Mortgage Co., Inc., at 2139 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
