Written comments will be considered only if they are received within ten days from the date of this bulletin.

Branch Activity
Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. Questions concerning branch activity should be directed to the Bank Examination Division, (860) 240-8180.

SECTION 36a-425 APPLICATIONS
On June 2, 1998, an application was filed by The Chase Manhattan Corporation, a Delaware corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiary, Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation, a New Jersey corporation, at 4 Main Street, Wallingford, Connecticut.
On June 4, 1998, an application was filed by Swiss Bank Corporation, a corporation organized under the laws of Switzerland, to establish an office of its subsidiary, SBC Warburg Dillon Read Inc., a Connecticut corporation, at 677 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, Connecticut.
On June 4, 1998, an application was filed by UBS AG, a corporation organized under the laws of Switzerland, to establish an office of its subsidiary, Warburg Dillon Read LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, at 677 Washington Boulevard, Stamford, Connecticut.
SECTION 36a-425 APPROVAL
On June 1, 1998, approval was granted to FIRSTPLUS FINANCIAL GROUP, Inc., a Nevada corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiary, FIRSTPLUS FINANCIAL, Inc., a Texas corporation, at 435X Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, Connecticut.
CHANGE OF NAME
On June 2, 1998, pursuant to Section 36a-82 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Moodus Savings Bank requested approval to change its name to Hometown Bank.
SALE OF ASSETS
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-210(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on June 3, 1998, Branford Savings Bank requested approval to sell its branches located at 568 East Main Street, Branford, CT; 430 Foxon Road, East Haven, CT; 263 Hemingway Avenue, East Haven, CT; and 1717 Foxon Road, North Branford, CT to Citizens Bank of Connecticut.
