Written comments will be considered only if they are received within ten days from the date of this bulletin.

Branch Activity

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which money will be lent, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. SECTION 36a-425 APPLICATIONS

On May 13, 1998, an application was filed by Fleet Financial Group, Inc., a Rhode Island corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiary, Fleet Capital Corporation, a Rhode Island corporation, at 200 Glastonbury Boulevard, Glastonbury, Connecticut.

On May 15, 1998, an application was filed by FIRSTPLUS FINANCIAL GROUP, Inc., a Nevada corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiary, FIRSTPLUS FINANCIAL, Inc., a Texas corporation, at 435X Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, Connecticut.

SECTION 36a-425 APPROVAL

On May 11, 1998, approval was granted to National Westminster Bank Plc, a corporation organized under the laws of the United Kingdom, to expand its office at 600 Steamboat Road, Greenwich, Connecticut, to include an office of its subsidiary, Greenwich NatWest Structured Finance Inc., a Delaware corporation.
