ACQUISITION

On January 21, 1998, William R. Berkley, in connection with an acquisition statement filed on December 8, 1997, pursuant to Section 36a-184 of the Connecticut General Statutes, filed a community reinvestment plan which is available for public inspection and comment.

SECTION 36a-425 APPROVAL

On January 22, 1998, approval was granted to Old Kent Financial Corporation, a Michigan corporation, to establish an office of its subsidiary, Old Kent Mortgage Company, a Michigan corporation, at 195 Farmington Avenue, Farmington, Connecticut.

MONEY ORDER AND TRAVELERS CHECK LICENSEE ACTIVITY

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-600 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on January 23, 1998, Trans-Fast Remittance, Inc., filed an application to engage in the business of receiving money for transmitting the same.
