How do I nominate someone for poet laureate?
We are not currently accepting Poet Laureate nominations or applications.
Any Connecticut resident may nominate one eligible poet who embodies the characteristics of the Poet Laureate role. Please note that people cannot nominate themselves and we do not give this award posthumously.
Our online nomination form asks for the following information. You cannot save and exit the form. Please be ready to complete the entire form in one session and submit it.
Required information:
- Your name, email address, and complete street address (street address, municipality, state, ZIP code)
- Contact information for the nominee:
- Name
- Email address
- Street address
- Phone number (optional)
- Your relationship to this nominee (relative, fan, professional, etc.)
- Why this individual is uniquely qualified to serve as Poet Laureate
- How and why this poet has inspired you.
