Four People Charged In Connection with 2005 Cold Case Murder in Hartford
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Rocky Hill, CT) - Four people have been charged in connection with the 2005 fatal shooting of Dante Davis in Hartford following a joint investigation by the Cold Case Unit of the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, the Hartford State’s Attorney’s Office and the Hartford Police Department.
According to court records, Hartford Police received a complaint of a woman shot at 131 Martin Street in Hartford at 11:08 p.m. on June 21, 2005. Responding officers determined that Davis, age 21, was standing in front of that location with her boyfriend and others when armed assailants opened fire in the area. Davis was struck in the head by the gunfire and was transported to the hospital prior to police arrival. Davis later died of her wounds.
Following an extensive investigation that included following up on dozens of tips, conducting numerous witness interviews and the examination of cellphone records, as well as an extensive Grand Jury Investigation, authorities recently made the following arrests:
- Brandon Jones, age 34, charged with Murder in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a(a) and 53a-8.
- Shane Henriques, age 35, charged with Murder in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a(a) and 53a-8.
- Maurice Snowden, age 38, charged with Murder in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a(a) and 53a-8.
- Victoria Harris, age 33, charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-155 and Perjury in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-156.

At this time, the charges are merely accusations and all four defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Fahey also would like to thank the U.S. Marshals Service for assisting with this case.
“The investigators in this case worked diligently to bring this case to a successful resolution,” Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Fahey said. “Ms. Davis was an innocent victim and for the past 17 years, detectives assigned to this case never forgot her and the family and friends she left behind. These recent arrests show the Cold Case Unit’s continued commitment to work tirelessly to resolve each case that comes before us.”
The Cold Case Unit was established in the Office of the Chief State's Attorney in May of 1998 to focus special investigative efforts on crimes that have gone unsolved for a prolonged period of time. The Unit currently includes Inspectors and Prosecutors from the Division of Criminal Justice and investigators with the Hartford Police Department, Connecticut State Police, the state Department of Correction and at various times, other local, state and national law enforcement agencies.
