CONNECTICUT INSURANCE DEPARTMENT TO HOST CONFERENCE
ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND INSURANCE (C4I)
November 15, 2023 - A Free & Virtual Event
The Connecticut Insurance Department, working with national and international experts, will host the third-annual Conference on Climate Change and Insurance. The Department will lead a critical discussion on climate change, resiliency, risk mitigation, and the efforts being made to foster more resiliency in our communities.

“Climate experts, insurance industry leaders, government officials, climate change advocates, and private sector professionals will discuss how climate change impacts our communities, regulatory efforts, and businesses,” said Commissioner Andrew N. Mais. “We want our national audience to better understand the efforts being made to address climate change. This is our third-year hosting this critically important event.”
As climate change related disasters increase in frequency, major damage to properties and infrastructure has also increased, causing stress on insurance markets and communities. Panelists will discuss these and other important issues.
Keynote Speaker is Daniel Wang, Executive Director, Insurance at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Mr. Wang directs the supervision and regulation of insurance companies in Singapore and oversees policy formulation for the insurance sector. Mr. Wang chairs the Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF) and chairs the Climate Risk Steering Group at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
