  On Thursday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will continue his Jobs Tour with a visit to Mohegan Sun, followed by a visit with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods Resort Casino. At each of the locations, Governor Malloy and Department of Economic & Community Development Deputy Commissioner Christopher “Kip” Bergstrom will meet and tour the facilities with the executives and staff to discuss the role of casino resort destinations in the tourism industry and the state’s economic development strategy. The tourism industry is one of the top five producers of jobs in the State of Connecticut.

Malloy will give remarks at a ceremony to congratulate Gaylord Hospital of Wallingford on a grant from the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund that will help build a Solar Thermal Hot Water heating system providing two-thirds of the hospital’s domestic hot water needs using solar energy. Gaylord is the first hospital in the state to commit to this alternative energy project that will help reduce the hospital’s carbon emissions.
