How do I learn about and contact the Compensation Review Board (CRB)?

Overview

The CRB hears appeals to workers' compensation decisions. It’s a three-person panel. It has two administrative law judges plus the Workers' Compensation Commission (WCC) Chairperson.

The CRB:
  • Meets monthly, usually on Friday morning
  • Looks at workers’ comp cases again if someone disagrees with a decision
  • Can agree with the first decision or change it
  • Can also send the case back to the district office to be reheard
  • Makes sure workers and employers are treated fairly
  • Helps parties understand what the law says about workers’ comp
  • Makes a final decision if parties still don’t agree
File an appeal

File an appeal with the CRB (PDF) if you don’t agree with the findings of your Formal Hearing.

Further appeals

You may appeal decisions made by the CRB to the Connecticut Appellate Court and/or Connecticut Supreme Court.
