Who is the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission (WCC) Chairperson?

Governor Dannel Malloy appointed Stephen M. Morelli as Chairperson of the Connecticut WCC in 2018. Governor Ned Lamont reappointed him in 2023.

Prior to his appointment, Chairperson Morelli originally joined the Commission in 2012. In that role, he worked in the Hartford, New Britain, Norwich, and Waterbury District Offices. We are proud of his continued service to the people of Connecticut in his role as Chairperson.

In addition, he has over 25 years of experience working on employment, business, personal injury, real estate, and workers’ compensation cases including appearing before both State and Federal courts

Chairperson Morelli went to Boston College and the University of Connecticut, where he got his bachelor’s degree. He then earned his law degree (Juris Doctor) from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

After college, he worked with the United States Peace Corps in Thailand. He is a lawyer in Connecticut and California and can work in U.S. District Courts in both states. He is also a licensed realtor in Connecticut.
