How the WCC can help you

The WCC administers the workers’ compensation laws of the State of Connecticut. We make sure workers are paid for medical expenses, lost wages, and other workplace injury or illness costs. To do this, the Commission:

  • Helps workers and employers make their own agreements
  • Resolves workers’ comp disputes
  • Makes findings and awards
  • Hears and rules on appeals

We also help employers who want to:

  • Self-insure their workers’ compensation
  • Use or create WCC-approved medical care plans
  • Improve workplace health and safety

Welcome to the WCC. I’ve led the Commission since 2018 and am proud of the work we do. Our teams are here to help you. They include:

  • District offices to help workers and employers resolve workers’ compensation disputes, and the Compensation Review Board (CRB) to hear appeals
  • Education, Safety, and Health Services Unit answers questions about workers’ comp and supports workplace health and safety committees
  • Self-Insurance and Managed Care Plans Unit reviews and approves workers’ comp plans
  • Research, Planning, and Statistics Unit provides data and calculations for workers, employers, and Connecticut’s General Assembly
