CT WiZ is an “opt out” system per State regulations. This means that patients are automatically included unless they ask not to be. A Notice to Patients About Reporting to CT WiZ is provided at offices and clinics where people get vaccinated. The notice states that immunizations given to patients are reported through a secure, confidential electronic interface. In addition, Connecticut hospital birth packets and home birth packets include this information so new parents know their children are automatically enrolled in CT WiZ.
