NOTICE:

Beginning August 4th, the Department of Social Services has partnered with the state’s Community Action Agencies (CAA) to distribute the one-time $300 grocery card to those who have lost their SNAP benefits due to federal work rules eligibility changes. Individuals who have lost their SNAP benefits because of these changes should reach out directly to their local CAA. More information about the ABAWD changes are located on SNAP Time Limits webpage. If you need additional food pantry, soup kitchen or mobile food assistance, visit 211 Connecticut website or Connecticut Foodshare website

Changes to SNAP and HUSKY Health work rules can be hard to understand. But many people will not lose their benefits. The Department of Social Services has made two prescreeners available - one for SNAP and one for HUSKY - to determine whether these changes apply to you. Find out more about how it will impact you on our H.R.1 changes to SNAP and HUSKY Health website and DSS Benefits and H.R.1 website , which answers questions about work requirements and exemptions for SNAP and HUSKY (Medicaid).
