NOTICE:

Beginning August 4th, the Department of Social Services has partnered with the state’s Community Action Agencies (CAA) to distribute the one-time $300 grocery card to those who have lost their SNAP benefits due to federal work rules eligibility changes. Individuals who have lost their SNAP benefits because of these changes should reach out directly to their local CAA. More information about the changes can be found here. Changes to SNAP and HUSKY Health work rules can be hard to understand. But many people will not lose their benefits. The Department of Social Services has made two prescreeners available - one for SNAP and one for HUSKY - to determine whether these changes apply to you. The Department of Social Services, in collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, the Department of Consumer Protection, the Department of Correction (DOC), the Judicial Branch, the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Office of Policy Management and the Department of Public Health will be holding Public Forum to seek comments on the progress of the State of Connecticut’s Medicaid Section 1115 Substance Use Disorder Demonstration. A virtual public meeting was held on September 09, 2025 from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Members of the public joined virtually using the meeting conference call information contained within the notice below.
