NOTICE:

Connecticut passed new legislation requiring DSS to spread out SNAP benefit issuance dates throughout the month rather than concentrating them in the first few days. Read up on the changes that start March 1.

DSS benefits have changed due to the federal budget reconciliation bill (H.R.1). Find out how it will impact you on our website, which answers questions about work requirements and exemptions for SNAP and HUSKY (Medicaid).

State HUSKY A and HUSKY B for Children Health Coverage

Overview

State HUSKY A and State HUSKY B for Children programs cover uninsured children ages 0-15 with household income between 0-323% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), who do not qualify for regular HUSKY A Medicaid or HUSKY B CHIP coverage because they do not have a qualifying immigration status.

Here’s how to apply:

  • Phone: Access Health CT at 1‐855‐805‐4325
  • If you are deaf or hearing impaired, you may use TTY at 1‐855‐789‐2428 or call with a relay operator

We strongly encourage phone applications in order to get an immediate decision about qualifying for the program. You may also:
