Community Health Worker Coverage 

Sec. 4 of Public Act 23-186 directs the Commissioner of Social Services to design and implement a program to provide Medicaid reimbursement to certified community health workers for services provided to HUSKY Health program members. As part of the design process, the Department of Social Services is consulting with certified community health workers, Medicaid beneficiaries and advocates to explore options for the program's design, which will ensure access to such community health workers, encourage workforce growth to support such access and foster an environment to create a collaborative relationship between CHWs and other health professionals.
