DSS presented this Powerpoint presentation in order to assist potential respondents with completing a response to a Request for Proposals (RFP) offered by the State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services. DSS uses an open, fair, and competitive process where all responsible sources have an equal opportunity to pursue a contract to provide the agency with the desired services. This presentation provides an overview of what a competitive procurement is, why DSS conducts competitive procurements, types of competitive procurements, and essential information needed to create a successful proposal. The Powerpoint presentation is also used as a learning tool to aid potential respondents in the elimination of "Common Pitfalls" when submitting a RFP.
