Banking Commissioner Jorge L. Perez Announces Relocation From Constitution Plaza to 280 Trumbull Street, Hartford

HARTFORD — Today, Connecticut Banking Commissioner Jorge Perez announced that the Department of Banking is moving from its current location at 260 Constitution Plaza to a new office space located on the 16th floor of 280 Trumbull Street in Hartford.

"The Department’s move represents a transition to an office that better meets the needs of a modern workforce, while remaining part of the Hartford community,” said Banking Commissioner Jorge Perez. “As the financial services landscape changes, the impacts are felt across industries. The new space is designed to foster better collaboration within the Department so we may continue to serve the residents of Connecticut and provide common sense regulation."

The new space was selected through a public and competitive RFP process led by the Department of Administrative Services closely following approved State guidelines. The Department of Banking has been located at Constitution Plaza since 1995.  The Department, which will remain in the Capitol city, continues supporting Hartford’s tax base by leasing from a private landlord.  The Department of Banking is an industry- funded agency that does not utilize taxpayer money.

The Department is scheduled to move on Monday, November 24, 2025, and will continue to operate normally, except for in-person appointments. The Department is scheduled to reopen to the public for on-site meetings the following day.
