Grants for farm sustainability

Stay competitive. Improve farm processes, upgrade equipment, and diversify your product offerings.


Dairy Funding Opportunities

For farmers, farm businesses, municipalities, schools, and non-profits: Funds to increase dairy sales in Connecticut. Plus all other funding opportunities from the CT Milk Promotion Board.

Farm Transition Grant

For farmers and producers: This grant helps farms grow by expanding products and selling more CT Grown items. Diversify your production, build infrastructure, and test and launch new products.

Organic Certification Cost Share Grant Program

For certified organic farmers and producers: Get partially reimbursed for the costs of renewing your USDA organic certification.Reimbursement may be for 75%, up to $750, of costs.

Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program

For farmers, municipalities, businesses, and nonprofits: A matching grant to support activities in the middle of the food supply chain. Activities include aggregation, processing, and distribution.

Agriculture viability grants

Agricultural Enhancement Grant

For municipalities and nonprofits: A matching reimbursement grant for urban farming and other activities that boost Connecticut agriculture.

CT Grown for CT Kids Grant

For farmers and schools: A statewide grant to boost farm education and other Farm-to-School programs and initiatives.

Food System Capacity Building Grant

For farmers, municipalities, and nonprofits: Funds to get food to more people and fight food insecurity. This includes making, processing, and distributing food.

Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program

For nonprofits: Grants to buy CT Grown products for areas with food insecurity.

Specialty Crop Block Grant

For universities / colleges, municipalities, registered nonprofits, state agencies, council of governments, and farmers: Funds to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in CT. Specialty crops include dried fruit, maple syrup, honey, horticulture, and nursery crops.

Grants for climate resiliency

DoAg provides funds for farms and farmers to adapt to changing weather patterns and mitigate severe weather risks


Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry Grant

For farmers, municipalities, schools, and nonprofits: Funds to prevent harm from drought and other climate changes.

Farmland Restoration, Climate Resiliency & Preparedness (RRP) Grant

For farmers, municipalities, and nonprofits: A matching grant to help increase climate resiliency of CT farmland.
