Farmers markets help make fresh, locally-grown food accessible to those in need through supplemental food programs. The Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides funds to eligible CT residents for fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, and more.
Who is eligible?
- Women, infants, and children (WIC) participants
- Seniors over 60 years of age (SFMNP)
- Disabled individuals meeting income and housing guidelines (SFMNP)
What can I buy with FMNP benefits?
- Using their FMNP benefits, participants can buy only CT Grown goods, including:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Fresh Cut herbs
- Eggs (State funds only)
- Honey (Seniors only)
